Four Beauty Tips From Russia To Make Your Skin Glow

The people of Russia are regarded as some of the most beautiful in the world. Many Russians use homemade masks, bath houses and traditional techniques to keep their skin looking young and fresh. Using these techniques can add to your beauty regimen and keep your skin looking radiant.

Bath Houses

Russian bath houses are known as Banya. These bath houses feature a steam room fueled by a wood burning stove. These bath houses work to purify the skin through sweating and eliminating toxins. You go into the steam room for as long as you can stand, usually no longer than 15 minutes. Then, between these steam sessions you take a plunge into cold water. You repeat these sessions from 4-6 times until your skin is cleansed and your spirits are a little lighter.

Ice Massage

This technique requires an ice cube, a washcloth and a little bit of time. First, wash your face thoroughly with hot water to remove any impurities. Next, take an ice cube and use it to gently massage your face in circular motions. You want to press the ice cube into your flesh with enough pressure to let the ice cube manipulate your skin, but not press so hard that it hurts. If the ice cube is too slippery, you can get a better grip on it by using a washcloth to hold it in your fingertips. Ice massages firm the skin and can minimize the appearance of pores.

Skin Slapping

It may sound odd, but skin slapping is a viable beauty technique that doesn't hurt nearly as much as it sounds. This technique is best done when you apply your moisturizer so both techniques can work together. First, apply your desired moisturizer to your face, being careful not to thoroughly rub the moisturizer in. Next, with your fingertips slap your cheeks, neck and forehead with small, but firm pats. The patting motion will help the moisturizer absorb into your skin. This slapping technique improves collagen production in your face and can keep your skin looking younger, longer.

Strawberry Masks

This mask is a really simple way to boost your skin's health. All you need to do is to mash some strawberries and apply the mixture to your face. Give it some time to sink in, about 15 minutes will do. Strawberries contain vitamin C which works to refresh your skin by increasing collagen production, reducing inflammation and reducing the appearance of sun damage.
